“I have to work closely to my artisan team in all creation steps of each piece to ensure the quality that I want. My whole team is absolutely irreplaceable and I don’t know what I’d do if they weren’t a few meters beyond my design board.”

“I’m very lucky to be able to live in the heart of Barcelona and our atelier is set in al iconic modernist building. Barcelona is a city of constant contrasts that never ceases to stimulate and inspire me.”

“Every single day my mother taught me that much of the beauty of a great fashion creation lies in what you can’t quickly see.”

At Teresa Helbig, we are committed to sustainability and slow fashion. We achieve this in three ways:

I. We do not build up stocks. We work to measure and to order. There is never anything left over. Everything is reused for new creations.

II. We know exactly where all the fabrics we use have originate. If we do not find exactly what we are looking for then we create our own in the atelier with controlled raw materials.

III. Our garments are designed to last a long time; in our 25 years in business, we have often seen dresses passed down from mothers to daughters and even from grandmothers to granddaughters, because our style is timeless and rejects absurd trends. Teresa Helbig is circular; our dresses are never wasted. They are passed to the next generation or retouched for further wear.

We employ local talent. Our garments are produced by the team in our Barcelona workshops, as well as by skilled weavers, embroiderers, artisans, jewellers, florists…

These are mutually beneficial relationships: we all learn, we all innovate, contribute ideas, everyone wins. Our relationships are based on respect, honesty, clarity and decency.
